No Covid-19 fatalities, 185 new cases in Sarawak today

MIRI – There are no new Covid-19 deaths in Sarawak today, a welcome respite after a week of daily fatalities due to the coronavirus.

The death toll remains at 73, but the infection rate is still high with 185 new positive infections statewide today.

The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat said there were still 24 active Covid-19 clusters statewide.

Sibu district recorded 82 new positive cases, while Kuching recorded 29, Kapit 20, Sri Aman 11, Mabong 10, and several other districts recorded less than 10 new cases.

Sibu Hospital is treating 1,135 Covid-19 patients, Miri Hospital 244, Kapit Hospital 227, Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching 216, Bintulu Hospital 185, Sarikei Hospital 31, Sri Aman 27 and  one in Lawas Hospital.

With the war against the pandemic far from over, the secretariat appealed to the people to adhere to all standard operating procedures to stop the chain of infection. – The Vibes, February 21, 2021
