KOTA KINABALU - The Education Ministry offices and other learning institutions outside Sabah’s east coast will operate as usual during the 13-day inter-district travel ban.
Special permission has been obtained from the National Security Council (NSC) for all officers, teachers, staff, and students to allow them to travel inter-district during the restriction, the Education Ministry said today.
“For this, an attendance order letter will be issued to all the education ministry staff to allow them to travel across districts,” the Ministry said in a statement today.
“A special permission letter will also be issued by the school to students who had travelled inter-districts to reach their respective schools so they can attend lessons.”
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri on Oct 1 announced the enforcement of the inter-district travel ban for Sabah from 12.01am on Oct 3 till Oct 16.
Meanwhile, 209 private and public schools in Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna have remained closed since the implementation of the targeted enhance movement control order (Temco).
The duration of Temco will be from Sept 29 until Oct 12, and home-based learning is being implemented until the lockdown is lifted. – The Vibes, October 3, 2020
