KUANTAN – A trailer driver and his attendant were killed after the vehicle skidded and overturned at Km 43.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway in Bentong yesterday.

Pahang traffic police head Kamarulzaman Jusoh said the two victims, who were pinned in the trailer, died at the scene in the crash which occurred about 9pm.

He identified the victims as trailer driver Izani Hasri Azmi, 44, from Marang, Terengganu, and attendant Yusoff Mat Zain, 63, from Kuantan.

“The accident is believed to have occurred after the trailer driver, who was heading towards Bentong, lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to skid and hit a road divider before it overturned,” he said in a statement today.

He said firemen took almost an hour to remove the victims from the wrecked trailer. – Bernama, April 12, 2021
