KUALA LUMPUR – The conditional movement control order (CMCO) covering Tawau, Kunak, Semporna and Lahad Datu in Sabah, that was due to end on October 12 will be extended until October 26, according to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. 

Six localities in Semporna and one in Kunak will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (Emco) from October 11 to October 24, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today. The Emco in Kunak covers 35,643 residents.

In addition, the enhanced movement control order (Emco) covering Tawau Prisons, Taman Ehsan Prisons Quarters in Sabah will be extended again, from tomorrow to October 25.

The government today agreed to allow weddings in areas subjected to the CMCO, on the condition they comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set.

The senior minister said all wedding ceremonies in villages or housing estates must be supervised by the People's Volunteer Corps (Rela), or by the hotel management if they are held in a hotel. 

“Weddings with less than 100 guests requires the supervision of two Rela members, 100 to 300 guests (three Rela members) and 300 to 500 guests (four Rela members).

“If there are more than 500 guests, then the number of Rela members will be determined by the department according to the total attendance and venue space,” Ismail Sabri said in an online press conference today.  – The Vibes, October 9, 2020
