KOTA KINABALU – Overwhelmed by the rising number of Covid-19 cases, the Semporna hospital is now looking for volunteers to help as frontliners.

Health authorities need volunteers to help at the Bubul Ria public housing area.

Semporna yesterday recorded 536 active cases and more than 700 cumulative cases, making it the second highest in Sabah.

“The volunteers must be healthy and are available to do the work. They must be over 21 years of age and have their own vehicles.

The work schedule will be from 8am to 5pm at the PPR Bubul Ria operation room.

The call for volunteers has been posted on the Semporna Heroes Facebook page.

Yesterday, the state Disaster Management Committee announced a focused lockdown in several Semporna villages to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The villages affected are Kg Pinggir Bakau, Kg Simunul, Kg Bangau-Bangau, Kg Panji, Kg Air and Kg Selamat in Semporna. – The Vibes, October 10, 2020
