KUALA LUMPUR – Those selected to perform the haj this year will be given the Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines, as these have been approved by Saudi Arabia.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said discussions on the matter have been held with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.

“It was decided that all pilgrims selected to perform the haj this year will receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, but if supply is insufficient, the AstraZeneca vaccine will also be used,” he told a press conference here today.
