SEREMBAN – Police recorded statements from celebrity Noor Neelofa Mohd Nor and husband Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail at the Nilai police headquarters near here today, following a viral video of the couple allegedly violating conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Negri Sembilan police deputy chief Che Zakaria Othman said police have also taken statements from the owner and employee of a carpet shop believed to have been visited by the celebrity couple on Sunday.

“No special treatment will be given to any individual who breached CMCO SOPs.

“Police investigations are the same, no difference between celebrities or the public.”

Photos and a video clip of the couple shopping at a carpet shop at the Nilai 3 business centre near here went viral recently.

Nilai police chief Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said police spent about four hours recording their statements from 2.30pm.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, Regulation 19 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Infectious Areas) (Conditional Movement Control) (No.4) Regulations, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. – Bernama, May 4, 2021
