KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested a man allegedly shown in a viral video making his 2½-year-old son vape.

Gombak police chief Arifai Tarawe said the 23-year-old man was arrested in Setapak yesterday.

Police and Welfare Department personnel have gone to a house in Kg Baru Air Panas, here, to rescue the child and his mother at 4.50pm yesterday.

“Both of them were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a medical examination, and are currently admitted there.

“Initial investigations found that the incident took place at Taman Sahabat Jaya in Batu Caves on Sunday.”

Arifai said the man will be placed under remand for seven days from tomorrow to assist in the investigation under Section 31 (1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
