KUALA LUMPUR – Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has been in talks with the victims of the LRT crash and had visited Kumuthini Satiwir at Ward 11 in Kuala Lumpur Hospital on May 25.
In his Facebook post today, he said that he did not have the opportunity to meet the other four victims who are being treated in the intensive care unit’s trauma and emergency ward there.
“Another victim has been transferred to a private medical centre in Damansara for a hip operation.
“Yesterday, I made calls to all the victims (or their families) who are still hospitalised. During my conversation with the victims’ families, I asked about the victims’ current conditions and discussed a few issues to ensure that they receive the best care.
“I heard their grievances and requested that they contact me directly for any assistance,” said Wee.
On May 24, two LRT trains on the Kelana Jaya line collided in a tunnel near the KLCC station, with one train coming from Kg Baru and the other from Gombak heading towards Petaling Jaya.
Of the 213 victims, 64 were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital. Six were in critical condition, with three requiring ventilators. Fifteen are in semi-critical condition and the rest sustained non-critical injuries. – The Vibes, May 28, 2021
