Representing the Api-Api constituency, Maya Hejnowska was today crowned first-place winner of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2021 crown.

KOTA KINABALU – Kadazan-Polish beauty representing the Api-Api constituency Maya Hejnowska was today crowned the winner of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2021.

The 20-year-old shined on stage in the finals at Hongkod Koisan Cultural Hall, Penampang, today, winning the judges’ hearts in two question-and-answer sessions, in which she replied in fluent Kadazan.

Hejnowska, a student AT Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) majoring in music studies, came up tops of 20 finalists, and took home prizes worth RM66,830, including RM25,000 cash from various sponsors and a RM35,000 educational scholarship from North Borneo University College.

Dianarin Vahidin from Paginatan came in second, while Febby Angelica Richard from Kundasang took third place.
  
The final, which was broadcast online via Kaamatan TV, saw more than 35,000 tuning in to catch the crowning ceremony, the climax of the Kaamatan festival in Sabah. – The Vibes, May 31, 2021
