KOTA KINABALU – Residents here were yesterday captivated by a colourful cloud phenomenon, images of which have been making the rounds online.
Climatologist Associate Prof Ramzah Dambul told The Vibes that the occurrence, called a “cloud iridescence”, is not particularly rare.
“This is not something very rare or elusive. But, it’s more irregular than a rainbow.”
Sabah has seen quite a number of interesting cloud formations over the years.
Waterspouts are a relatively regular occurrence, while squall lines in the shape of a dragon appeared above the state capital in recent years. – The Vibes, October 16, 2020
