KOTA BELUD – Sabah top cop Datuk Hazani Ghazali has called on the public to stop speculating over the death of a 42-year-old said to be the son of a prominent local businessman.

The victim was found dead in his room in Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, by family members on Wednesday night.

Hazani said police are awaiting the coroner’s report, and have yet to obtain any leads.

The case has been classified as sudden death amid claims that the victim was heavily in debt.

“At this point, the case is classified as sudden death. There is no indication of crime or foul play in connection with the death,” said Hazani.

The victim is believed to be the second son of a local tycoon involved in tourism, and who owns a travel company, hotel, and shipping business. – The Vibes, June 11, 2021
