KUALA LUMPUR – Gua Musang MP Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has admitted that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has the qualities needed to lead the country.

However, he said that every individual has a different view of their chosen leader, according to a Sinar Harian report.

“I think he (Anwar) has the qualities, but some may have different opinions. He has many followers but we can’t rely so much on these followers. They might be okay with us today, but not okay with us tomorrow.

“It depends on what we say and what we believe in our crusade. So the followers’ minds will change.

“Whatever it is, Anwar is a good man in terms of leadership,” he said on the programme titled ‘Bersama Ku Li’ yesterday.

Previously, a survey by Sinar Harian revealed that the Port Dickson MP was netizens’ top pick to become the nation’s ninth prime minister.

Citing the survey, Anwar obtained the most votes with 45.76% followed by disgraced former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak with 24.54%.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin acquired 14.55% of the votes while Rantau MP Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan bagged fourth place with 6.74% of the votes.

Rembau MP and current Covid-19 immunisation coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin received 4.57% of the votes, while Sembrong MP and Senior Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein obtained 3.89%. – The Vibes, July 08, 2021
