KUALA LUMPUR – Police will not accept documents from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) as a valid movement permit for interstate travel from July 18 to 21.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the decision follows the increased number of vehicles on highways over the last few days.

“All roadblocks at state borders have been directed to increase enforcement and not accept Miti documents as a valid movement approval permit,” he said in a statement last night.

“This is to prevent irresponsible parties from misusing the Miti permission letter to cross state lines to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha.”

He said the ban does not apply to cases of emergency where police permission is secured, as well as health, including people travelling to get the Covid-19 jab. – Bernama, July 18, 2021
