KUALA LUMPUR – The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) will conduct a full investigation with the authorities following a spate of allegations that jab recipients were given “empty vaccines” or “false vaccinations” at various vaccination centres (PPVs).

The Vibes earlier reported on a Facebook user who described having received an “empty vaccine” at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) two days ago.

In a statement today, CITF said there have been two claims of “empty” syringes being used at Mitec, and that the affected parties have lodged police reports.

It also mentioned allegations of foul play in the inoculation process at other PPVs.

CITF said a police report was lodged by the healthcare provider following a purported “false injection” at the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre PPV yesterday.

It addressed complaints on the vaccination exercise at the Sg Petani Airport Camp PPV, catering to soldiers and their families, as well.

Following a probe, it said, several individuals were questioned and disciplinary action taken against the health worker involved.

The task force said it will cooperate with the authorities, including police and the army, to ensure no recurrence.

It said it will not hesitate to terminate staff found guilty.

CITF said vaccination officers are required, as per the standard operating procedures, to show recipients the syringe containing the vaccine dose before administering it.

It said the public is advised to closely watch the syringe before and after the shot is administered. – The Vibes, July 19, 2021
