KUALA LUMPUR – A fleet of vehicles carrying several leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, were spotted entering Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s residence in Bukit Damansara, here, this evening.

Other leaders spotted entering the compound in the Jalan Setiabakti area were Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee and PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

According to Bernama, Faizal’s white Toyota Camry was among the first spotted making its way into Muhyiddin’s house at 8.35pm this evening.

Malaysiakini also reported Attorney-General Tan Sri Idrus Harun as having arrived at the residence as well.

The hive of activity at Muhyiddin’s home also attracted dozens of media personnel.

The meeting comes after Umno’s Supreme Council resoundingly agreed to withdraw support for Muhyiddin and the Perikatan Nasional government earlier today, leaving the legitimacy of the prime minister’s administration up in the air.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said the council agreed to no longer defend Muhyiddin and his government following their “failure” to table and vote on emergency ordinances before August 1, as decreed by the king.

Zahid added that he had also secured enough statutory declarations from among Umno MPs to see to the PN administration’s collapse.

A letter has also been sent to the Agong informing His Majesty of the party’s withdrawal of support for Muhyiddin as prime minister, Zahid had said. – The Vibes, August 3, 2021
