Perak man killed after confronting neighbour about slapping son

LUMUT – A man was slashed to death during a quarrel with a neighbour in Jalan Sitiawan-Bruas, about 40km from here, yesterday.

“The incident stemmed from a misunderstanding. The suspect is said to have slapped the victim’s 10-year-old son. The victim then met the suspect at his house, demanding an explanation,” he told Bernama today.

“An argument broke out, and the suspect slashed the victim on the head and legs using a parang.”

The suspect, also in his 40s, was arrested at the scene 20 minutes after the incident. He has been remanded for seven days from today under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The victim’s body was sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for a post-mortem. – Bernama, August 10, 2021
