KOTA KINABALU – The taxi driver who rammed into several cars at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) about three weeks ago has died.
The man, identified as Ng Chin Seng, died on Monday due to health issues, including kidney failure.
Cops said that the 65-year-old had high blood pressure the day after he rammed into three cars at the airport on July 19.
He is believed to have become frustrated after the other taxi drivers jumped the queue at the taxi stand.
In confirming his death, KKIA Limousine and Taxi Association president Shamsuddin Mohd Shah said Ng was under mental stress and had been undergoing dialysis.
“We had tried our best to help in any way we could,” said Shamsuddin, adding that Ng had no permanent home and would sleep in public halls and cars.
He was also no longer in touch with his wife and children due to personal reasons.
He said Ng’s remains will be cremated tomorrow.
It is also understood that the owners of the cars Ng had damaged have decided not to take action against him.
Ng’s obituary has gone viral on social media since last night, with many claiming that he was the man who rammed the cars at the airport. – The Vibes, August 11, 2021
