KUALA LUMPUR – In a heartfelt Facebook post, newly minted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today shared some insight into his relationship with his wife, whom he calls Nani.

“My wife has been by my side since we becoming friends when I was 19 years old. I joined politics in 1986 and that was when we first started our marriage.

“Nani is a simple person and not one for the spotlight. That is why she is rarely seen. Thank you Ni for being by my side, from when I had nothing until today.

“For better and for worse.”

Ismail Sabri married Datin Seri Muhaini Zainal Abidin in 1986. They have a daughter and three sons together. She was photographed at Istana Negara yesterday when he was appointed Malaysia’s ninth prime minister.

His appointment was the culmination of political turmoil plaguing the country this year.

Focus is now shifting to who he will appoint as deputy prime minister and his cabinet members. He also has to face a vote of confidence when the Dewan Rakyat convenes next month. – The Vibes, August 22, 2021
