KOTA KINABALU – Backlogged Covid-19 cases account for 61.9%, or 2,159 infections, of the 3,487 tally recorded in Sabah today.

State Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said 1,550, or 44.5%, of the cases involving backlogs are between two and three days old.

Yesterday, backlog cases accounted for 62.8% or 2,022 of the 3,324 cases.

A total of 294 or 8.4% of them involve test results that are between four to five days old, and 315, or 9%, of the cases are more than five days old, he said.

“Overall, daily infections have climbed to 3,847, up 264 from the 3,324 reported yesterday.

“A majority of the patients, or 2,240 cases, involve those aged between 18 and 59 years old, while 31 cases involve infants aged 1 and below, and 297 cases involve children aged between 1 and 5 years old,” he said in a statement today.

As of last night, 33.8% of the adult population in Sabah has been completely vaccinated while 54.5% received the first dose. – The Vibes, August 26, 2021
