Supply back for 92.2% of Klang Valley areas hit by water cut
The most recent water disruption cut off supply to 463 areas in Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Putrajaya and Hulu Langat.

KUALA LUMPUR – Water supply in 463 areas affected by the shutdown of the Sg Semenyih water treatment plant over odour pollution in its water source has reached 92.2% recovery as of 7am this morning.

Air Selangor corporate communications head Elina Baseri said of the five affected regions, Kuala Langat, Sepang and Putrajaya had achieved 100% supply recovery while Hulu Langat is at 92.6% and Petaling at 81.4%.

“The resumption of water supply is different from area to area, depending on the location and distance of the consumer’s premises.

“Water supply to all affected areas is returning in stages and it is expected to be fully restored by 6am tomorrow morning. Alternative water supply through water lorry tankers will continue to be mobilised to consumers and critical premises affected by the unscheduled water disruption,” she said in a statement today.

She added that Air Selangor is seeking the cooperation of the people to observe physical distancing and to wear masks when obtaining water supply from lorry tankers.

“Consumers of Air Selangor will be kept informed on the incident from time to time via the media,” she said.

The people can also refer to official Air Selangor communication channels, such as Air Selangor app as well as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or by contacting the Air Selangor Communications Centre at 15300. Enquiries and complaints can also be forwarded to the help centre online and on the Air Selangor app. – Bernama, September 5, 2021
