KUALA LUMPUR – A container lorry was partially crushed by a large air ventilation structure that fell on it in the Semarak Tunnel in Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra here this morning.

The incident occurred near the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Academy.

A brief report on Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS) said the lorry was en route to the city centre.

“The ventilation structure has been removed, and the roads have been reopened,” said ITIS DBKL in a tweet about 11am.

There are no reports of injuries.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Sarifudin Mohd Salleh in a statement later said the lorry was carrying air-conditioning equipment from Air Panas, Setapak.

“The lorry crashed into the air ventilation device, causing it to collapse onto the vehicle and partially crushing its container.

“Only the lorry’s container was damaged. No other vehicles were involved.” – The Vibes, September 11, 2021
