MIRI – The mandatory quarantine for all entries into Sarawak will remain in force until further notice.

Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg said the 14-day quarantine in designated centres will only be reviewed when the infection rate slows down.

“We have yet to reach the endemic stage of Covid-19.

“We will review standard operating procedures when the infections have reduced,” he told reporters during a visit to Sri Aman vaccination centre, today.

The state today recorded 3,743 new cases topping the national list yet again.

Kuching district recorded 1,405 cases followed by Sibu (420), Bintulu (311), Samarahan (214), Bau (158), Sri Aman (146), Miri (122), with the remaining districts recording several dozen cases each.

Ten deaths were recorded today, bringing the coronavirus death toll in Sarawak to 617. – The Vibes, September 11, 2021
