KUALA LUMPUR – The police helicopter that purportedly intruded into Singapore’s airspace today had only flown near the island republic for official purposes, Bukit Aman confirmed.
In a statement, Bukit Aman’s internal security and public order director Datuk Hazani Ghazali said while the police helicopter did fly near Singapore’s airspace for official purposes, they had not received any report from Singapore’s airspace authority about an intrusion by said aircraft.
He said this in response to reports on social media claiming that a police helicopter had intruded into Singapore airspace earlier today.
According to the reports, the chopper breached Singapore airspace, flying over the island republic’s Pulau Tekong where military and national service training is usually carried out.
Checks on FlightRadar24 corroborated reports that a Malaysian police aircraft flew over Pulau Tekong, where the Singapore army conducts basic military training. – The Vibes, September 11, 2021
