KUALA LUMPUR – Police will soon have access to information from MySejahtera, where they will be notified about illegal check-ins, so as to enable them to immediately take action at the location itself.
Premises owners will face enforcement action for letting in people issued the home surveillance order (HSO), said Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
This comes after it was found that 523 check-ins via MySejahtera at public premises were by Covid-19 patients under HSO, of which 18% were recorded at supermarkets, he told a press conference after a meeting with the SOP Enforcement Coordination Committee today.
The committee will seek the Health Ministry’s help to disseminate information on HSO enforcement to police.
“Seeing how we are going into the endemic phase, it is important that people who are not allowed to go out comply with the orders given,” said Hamzah.
“Self-compliance is essential. Those who go against the orders have wronged others who have been following the SOPs all this while.”
He did not disclose a detailed breakdown of the 523 HSO flouters. – The Vibes, September 24, 2021
