KUALA LUMPUR – Putrajaya has approved 4.98 million i-Citra withdrawal applications up till August 31, involving a total of RM20.58 billion.
So far, RM4.71 billion (23% of applications) has been credited.
“The remaining sum will be credited to contributors based on the set schedules for i-Citra withdrawals, and the final payments will be credited by February 2022,” said Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in a parliamentary reply.
Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim (Baling-BN) had asked about the number of i-Citra withdrawals.
The facility allows Employees Provident Fund contributors aged below 55 to withdraw up to RM5,000 from their Accounts 1 and 2.
Separately, the i-Sinar programme saw 6.57 million applications approved as of August 31, said Tengku Zafrul, following a question on the matter by Dr Lee Boon Chye (Gopeng-PH).
The minister added that RM58.5 billion had been credited up till August 31, with the remaining RM280 million to be disbursed to contributors by December.
The i-Sinar facility allows contributors aged below 55 to withdraw between RM10,000 and RM60,000, depending on the balance in their Account 1.
It was available from January to June, with the monies credited within a period of six months. – The Vibes, September 30, 2021
