GEORGE TOWN – A total of nine areas in Lebuh Sg Pinang will experience a scheduled water supply disruption between November 6 and 7, according to the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP).

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Jaseni Maidinsa, said in a statement today that the water supply pipeline would be shut down temporarily to facilitate pipe relocation works from the junction at Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu to Lebuh Sungai Pinang.

He said the pipe relocation works would affect about 4,000 water account holders in nine areas in Lebuh Sungai Pinang, namely Lebuh Sungai Pinang 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8, Persiaran Karpal Singh 1 and 2, Masjid Al-Bukhary, The Spring Condominium, Summer Place Condominium, Ocean View Condominium, Desa Pinang Court 1 and 2, Maritime Plaza as well as Wesley Methodist International School Penang.

“Consumers in those areas are requested to store sufficient water beforehand, for use from 9pm on Friday (Nov 6) until 9am on Saturday (Nov 7),” he said, adding that the the pipe relocation works are necessary to ensure development activities at Lebuh Sungai Pinang do not damage existing water pipes in the area. – Bernama, October 30, 2020
