MIRI – Two young men without any history of serious illness, who were brought in dead to the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, are among 19 Covid-19 deaths confirmed in the state today.

The state Disaster Management Committee secretariat said the two men, aged 29 and 35, were both from Kuching.

The 29-year-old was the youngest among the 19 latest fatalities, with the oldest aged 95, also from Kuching.

The deceased were from Kuching (eight persons), Miri (seven), Limbang (one), Sibu (one), Betong (one) and Mukah (one).

Four of these fatalities were brought in dead cases. They died in their homes.

The deaths were recorded over the past few days and tests on their remains confirmed today that the causes were directly due to Covid-19.

Of the 528 new infections recorded state-wide today, Kuching had 174, Miri 95 and numerous other districts saw several dozen cases each.

There were 11 admissions into the intensive care units today.

Yesterday, Sarawak recorded 20 Covid-19 deaths, including five brought in dead.

The Health Ministry confirmed that Sarawak now has the highest daily death rate. – The Vibes, November 2, 2021
