KUALA LUMPUR – Even as voters in Melaka went to the polls today, Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin was seen continuing to meet members of the public.
In a video shared by Malaysia Gazette, the plantation industries and commodities minister is seen entering an eatery with an entourage in Machap Jaya.

The tweet containing the video currently viral on social media reads:
“Is Zuraida still campaigning? (Perikatan Nasional) supreme council member Zuraida is said to be campaigning in Machap Jaya today.”
The Ampang MP is seen entering the restaurant with her entourage clad in PN-branded clothing, as she greets a resident with the Mandarin phrase “jia you” (keep fighting).
Zuraida also approached two Indian men, addressing them in Tamil as “anneh” (big brother) and “thambi” (little boy), asking if they had already cast their votes.
Earlier today, Pengkalan Batu incumbent Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee was seen on video speaking to the media urging constituents to cast their ballots for him.
Section 26(1)(a) of the Election Offences Act 1954 states that no person on polling day shall hold, convene, or organise any form of address that is open or involves members of the public or otherwise.
Section 26(2) of the same act meanwhile, states that any person who contravenes any of the provisions of the subsection shall be liable, on conviction, to imprisonment for not more than one year, a fine not exceeding RM5,000, or both. – The Vibes, November 20, 2021
