BOTTLED drinks allegedly mixed with drugs and sold for up to RM300 each at entertainment outlets and private parties were among the activities uncovered in a police crackdown on three suspected drug syndicates.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said 23 suspects, including four women, aged between 21 and 40, were arrested in nine raids conducted from Oct 19 to 22 in Cheras, Brickfields and Dang Wangi in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Ampang in Selangor.
Police seized 393.965kg of suspected drugs worth RM2.15 million, including 966 packets of suspected MDMA, 401 bottles of liquid suspected to contain MDMA, 40 packets of suspected ketamine and 1,250 Erimin 5 pills.
Fadil said the syndicates allegedly rented condominiums through proxies and used multiple layers of security to conceal their activities. The three groups were believed to be linked.
The drugs were believed to have been sourced from overseas before being repackaged at premises in Malaysia, he said.
Of the 23 suspects, 17 were Malaysians and six were foreigners. Police believe they played various roles in the operations, including as masterminds and distributors.
Six Malaysian suspects had previous criminal records, while five foreign suspects had entered the country on social visit passes. Another foreign suspect did not have a social visit pass.
Fadil said police would continue tracing all levels of the alleged operations, from suppliers and distributors to those storing the drugs and their users.
“We will not compromise with anyone involved in drug distribution. Possessing, distributing or protecting drug-related activities are serious offences,” he said at a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters today.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. - October 28, 2026
