MIRI – The Sinovac vaccine boosters have yet to arrive in Sarawak.

Swamped with queries from residents who thought they could go for Sinovac booster jabs, Sibu Municipal Council chairman Clarence Ting took to social media today to clarify that the vaccine has not arrived.

“There is a message that is going viral in Sibu about Sinovac shots being available and I have also received many queries from the public.

“I have checked with the medical centres. The Sinovac booster shot is not available yet.

“I know there are many who are waiting and do not want to mix vaccines, but they have to wait until further notice,” he said.

Ting urged the people to stop spreading rumours that the Sinovac vaccine is already available.

“Please wait for the official announcement from the state Disaster Management Committee on the Sinovac booster shots.

“When available, there will be many places that will give out Sinovac booster shots, not just in government medical centres,” he said.

Some 70% of Sarawakians had Sinovac for their first two doses and most of them want the same brand for their booster shot.
