KUALA LUMPUR — All educational institutions under the Education Ministry (MOE) in the districts of Dungun in Terengganu, Kerian in Perak and Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan will be closed from November 7 to November 20.
The MOE said in a statement last night that the closure would affect 73 educational institutions in Dungun, 91 in Kerian and 67 in Port Dickson, encompassing primary and secondary schools, vocational colleges and private schools registered with the ministry.
The decision was made following the declaration of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) involving Mukim Rasau in Dungun, Mukim Jimah in Port Dickson and Mukim Parit Buntar in Kerian.
“Day schools and boarding schools will also be closed and parents or guardians need to take students from boarding schools back home. Students who wish to remain in the boarding schools throughout the closure, however, will be under the care of the school warden.
“The daily needs of students throughout that period will be handled by the schools or institutions,” the statement read.
According to the MOE, all school administrators are ordered to ensure teachers, employees and students conduct their teaching and learning from home, adding that students sitting for international examinations during the closure would need to get a letter from their schools to attend the exams.
The list of educational institutions that will be closed in all three districts will be updated from time to time and uploaded to the MOE’s official website at www.moe.gov.my and on official social media platforms. Home teaching and learning manuals can also be downloaded at the portal. — Bernama, November 6, 2020
