KUALA LUMPUR – Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin cleared the air after social media was abuzz about his Covid-19 vaccination status.

In a Facebook post, he denied allegations of him not being fully vaccinated, reiterating that he was the first in the country to be inoculated with Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccine on March 18 last year.

In fact, he said his vaccination was aired live on television and he had shown his MySejahtera page after receiving the vaccine.

“Whereas for my second dose, I received it on April 8, 2021. I have also been boosted with Pfizer-BioNTech’s Comirnaty last September, before I left for the 72nd World Health Organisation Western Pacific Region Committee Meeting (WPRCM) in Himeji, Japan,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Earlier, in the post, he acknowledged that a screenshot of his personal details and Covid-19 vaccination centres via checks on the VaksinCovid website has made its rounds on social media.

In the viral post by a Twitter user using the handle @twt_fat, it is stated that Khairy’s first dose vaccination appointment is still “being processed” while the rest of the details – vaccination centre, date and time of the appointment – were not available.

“I would like to take this opportunity to deny once again the information displayed on the screenshot.

“I urge the public to not be influenced by the actions of irresponsible parties to deny the country’s vaccination efforts.”

Khairy, who is also Rembau MP, said the government website was created in the early stages of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to facilitate the public.

However, he said, after the vaccination rate of the adult population had reached 90% last October, the site was no longer active or updated. – The Vibes, January 6, 2022
