KUALA LUMPUR – After clearing the air on claims of him not being fully inoculated, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin openly lambasted individuals who have been spreading allegations over his Covid-19 vaccination status.

In a press conference this afternoon, he addressed the issue after a screenshot of his personal details and Covid-19 vaccination centres via checks on the VaksinCovid website made its rounds on social media.

Sarcastically, Khairy said: “Today, of course, you have heard by now that I am unvaccinated.

“And the person standing next to me is the grandmaster of the Freemason lodge of the world and not the health DG. If you believe that, you must be really stupid,” he said, referring to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, who attended the presser this evening.

Earlier, in a Facebook post, Khairy denied allegations of him not being fully vaccinated, reiterating that he was the first in the country to be inoculated with Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccine on March 18 last year.

He added that his vaccination was aired live on television and he had shown his MySejahtera status after receiving the vaccine.

“Whereas for my second dose, I received it on April 8, 2021. I have also been boosted with Pfizer-BioNTech’s Comirnaty last September, before I left for the 72nd World Health Organisation Western Pacific Region Committee Meeting in Himeji, Japan.

“I would like to take this opportunity to deny once again the information displayed on the screenshot. I urge the public to not be influenced by the actions of irresponsible parties to deny the country’s vaccination efforts.”

Khairy, who is also Rembau MP, said the government website was created in the early stages of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to facilitate the public.

However, he said, after the vaccination rate of the adult population had reached 90% last October, the site was no longer active or updated. – The Vibes, January 6, 2022
