ALOR STAR – The Perikatan Nasional Kedah government has expressed gratitude to Putrajaya for providing specific allocations for the state’s development and management expenses in Budget 2021.

Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, in a statement, said the provisions that will directly benefit Kedah include a water treatment plant, a road linking Grik to Kulim, and infrastructure for special development zones in Yan and Baling.

“The allocation to develop a new water treatment plant in Kubang Pasu for residents and the new industrial area there is very much appreciated.

"The allocation to maintain industrial areas and village roads will also directly help Kedah’s economy.”

He expressed hope that the federal government will pay attention to worn-out roads in Kedah, pointing to the RM1.32 billion set aside to upgrade rural roads nationwide.

The increase in rubber production incentives for smallholders, as well as fresh incentives for fishermen and farmers, will benefit these groups in the state, he added.

“I am confident that the people are satisfied with all the aid announced.” – The Vibes, November 7, 2020
