KUALA LUMPUR – Amanah president Mohamad Sabu today revealed that his party will be running for 20 state seats in the upcoming Johor polls.

He was quoted as saying at a press conference in Permas Jaya, Johor that the seat negotiations ended on Tuesday, while the list of candidates has yet to be finalised.

“This was decided yesterday – PKR 20 seats, Amanah 20 seats and DAP 16 seats.

“The parties will then meet and discuss if there are other parties that will join and can bring victory to Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Johor.

“This is the allocation given. We will be able to decide which party will be together and how many seats contested, in a day or two, InshaAllah,” he was quoted as saying by Astro Awani.

He was referring to what the seat allocation would possibly look like if non-PH parties such as Muda, Pejuang and Warisan want to stand with the coalition in the election.

Earlier, Mohamad and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said that their two parties will maintain the use of the PH logo to demonstrate their commitment towards governing together as a coalition in the future.

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also PH chairman, yesterday said that PKR will run using its own logo, while DAP and Amanah will contest under the PH banner. – The Vibes, January 27, 2022
