JOHOR BARU – Like a pair of jilted ex-lovers with an axe to grind against each other, both Bersatu chief Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and former Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak continue to trade blows on social media.

After being labelled a traitor by the Pekan MP, the Pagoh lawmaker proceeded to remind the former that he has no court convictions.

Addressing Najib’s jabs on Facebook, Muhyiddin rubbished his former boss’ claims that RM42 million from SRC International was used for charitable and corporate social responsibility (CSR) purposes.

Instead, Muhyiddin labelled Najib’s CSR as “Crook’s Self en-Richment”.

Breaking down evidence presented against Najib in court, Muhyiddin said the RM42 million was used to pay off:

  • Nearly RM3.3 million worth of credit card debt.
  • RM240,000 to Vital Spire Sdn Bhd, owned by an Umno assemblyman in Johor to run an online portal.
  • RM238,914 to a Tan Sri to woo Chinese voters.
  • RM100,00 to a contractor to renovate a private storeroom in Najib’s private residence.
  • RM56,500 to a plumbing company for a water tank fixture in Najib’s private home.
  • RM77,300 to a contractor for maintenance works for Najib’s residence in Pekan, Pahang.

“Yes, some money was given to orphans, but it was nothing compared to the money he spent on himself and politics.

“This does not include the RM4 billion from Retirement Fund Incorporated that was lent to SRC that just disappeared,” Muhyiddin said on Facebook.

He also quoted the Court of Appeal’s judgement which found Najib guilty of using the RM42 million for personal as well as political purposes and could not be said to have been done in the national interest.

“This is definitely not something that can be said to have been done in the national interest. There is no national interest here, just national embarrassment,” the court excerpt cited by Muhyiddin read.

Furthermore, Muhyiddin rubbished claims from Najib that he did not spend money for the public, pointing out that RM530 billion was used for various aid and stimulus packages.

Yesterday, Najib took to Facebook and attacked Muhyiddin over what he claims were traitorous actions.

“Did he betray former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad until the government fell because of 1MDB?

“He betrayed them and went from home affairs minister to prime minister,” Najib said. – The Vibes, February 12, 2022
