KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry recorded 22,535 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday, marking another drop of 3,170 cases from 25,705 recorded on Saturday.

Out of the new figure, 361 were imported cases. There are currently 320,876 active cases nationwide.

Yesterday also saw 87 deaths and 25,356 recoveries, making the cumulative death toll stand at 33,807 cases so far since the beginning of the pandemic..

At present, there are 8,704 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 384 are in intensive care.

The two states that recorded more than 2,000 new infections yesterday are Selangor (5,345) and Kedah (2,332).

States with cases ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 are Johor (1,973), Negri Sembilan (1,950), Kuala Lumpur (1,594), Penang (1,548), Sarawak (1,354), Pahang (1,352), Perak (1,292), Terengganu (1,039), and Kelantan (1,005).

The few states that recorded fewer than 1,000 new cases are Sabah (845), Melaka (563), Labuan (133), Putrajaya (121), and Perlis (89).

Malaysia also recorded six new clusters, with one high-risk group cluster known as the Kg Aman Cluster in Johor Baru, with 116 cases identified so far.

Another high-risk group cluster, known as the Jalan Tambalang cluster in Tuaran, Sabah, recorded 60 cases at present. – The Vibes, March 14, 2022
