KUALA LUMPUR – The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) will give back 100% of the feature film screening incentive to producers in a bid to empower them.
In a statement last night, Finas said the decision, which takes effect immediately, was approved at its corporation members’ meeting chaired by chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid recently.
It said it will also extend the implementation of Insentif Saringan Prihatin for Covid-19 testing for production companies that conduct filming during the conditional movement control order period until December 6.
The statement said Finas will hand over to its panel lawyer the name of companies that failed to complete their production based on agreements signed between 2015 and last year.
“The panel will evaluate the actions to be taken against the firms based on the provisions of the law” it said, adding that the list of this year’s funding recipients can be viewed on the Finas website. – Bernama, November 13, 2020
