Police detain teen over naked video of girl online

MIRI – Police today said they have detained a 17-year-old boy for allegedly posting a video online believed to have been shot here of a naked 12-year-old girl said to be his girlfriend.

Miri police chief Hakemal Hawari said the boy was detained on Wednesday at his home in Kuala Lumpur by a team of criminal investigation officers from Bukit Aman and Miri, and later transferred to Miri.

The boy has been remanded to assist investigations, which will include how he got to know the victim, he said.

“This case is being investigated under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” Hakemal told reporters. – The Vibes, April 8, 2022
