KUALA LUMPUR – Two foreigners and one permanent resident have been detained today in connection to the case of a dead man found yesterday with exposed organs and hands bound with cable ties in Sepang.
Now, classified as a murder investigation, police said the three men believed to be Indonesians have denied any involvement.
The permanent resident is aged 50, while the two are aged 34 and 24, respectively.
Their mobile phones were also seized in the raid at 1am today of a house in Padang Jawa, Shah Alam.
Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said police believed that the murder was motivated by jealousy and revenge.
He added in a statement that the 25-year-old victim, who is said to be a Bangladeshi national, has been identified by his cousin and girlfriend via a photo shown to them.
“Yesterday at 9.30pm, the Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi police received a call from a man who claimed to be a friend of the deceased. Sepang police met the person, who is a 16-year-old foreigner, and cousin of the deceased in Sri Muda.
“They said that the victim was close to a Malay woman, whose ex-husband was unhappy about their relationship.
“The woman had been married to a foreigner and had three children. During the movement control order in 2020, her then husband went back to his country of origin, only to return to Malaysia last August.
“When he returned and discovered his then wife’s friendship with the victim, he got angry and divorced her. The cousin of the deceased’s cousin told the police that the woman’s ex-husband had scolded the victim over the matter.”
Police yesterday urged those with missing friends or relatives to come forward following the discovery of a body in Sepang.
Wan Kamarul had said the victim was found with deep slash wounds on both sides of his abdomen that exposed portions of his organs.
“His hands were bound with cable ties and his pants lowered to reveal his crotch with injuries also seen on his genitals.”
The body was found at a site in Jalan Sepang in an area surrounded by palm oil plantations, and accessible via inter-district trunk roads as police were notified of the incident by a local man around 8.30am. – The Vibes, April 16, 2022
