GEORGE TOWN – The Health Ministry has ordered the Taman Free School temporary hawker site here to close from 4pm yesterday until November 27.

Penang Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the closure is to allow for disinfection work following the detection of Covid-19 cases among traders there.

The closure affects 68 traders, he told reporters at the site today.

Earlier, Jagdeep handed out basic necessities and masks to 300 Taman Free School residents.

He said 13,408 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the state as of yesterday. – Bernama, November 14, 2020
