[UPDATED] EMCO imposed on Top Glove workers' dormitories until Nov 30

KUALA LUMPUR – An enhanced movement control order will be imposed on Top Glove Corp Bhd’s worker dormitories in Klang starting tomorrow until November 30, after 215 Covid-19 cases were detected there, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

This EMCO also affects roads surrounding the dormitories.

Ismail Sabri said the EMCO involved the male and female workers’ dormitories, and houses located along Jalan Abadi 1A/KU8, 1A, and 10A/KU8, placing a total of 13,190 employees under lockdown.

He said its implementation in the area will enable the Health Ministry to carry out targeted screenings of workers and residents in the area.

“Top Glove will be required to conduct full screenings on all workers in the factory and hostels,” he said during his daily press briefing today.

He added that the standard operating procedures for the EMCO in the factory area are similar to other areas placed under the restriction.

Meanwhile, Ismail said Kg Numbak in Kota Kinabalu is now under EMCO until November 29. – The Vibes, November 16, 2020
