KUALA LUMPUR – PKR vice-president candidate Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has questioned the legitimacy of the party’s election results in its Gombak division.

In a brief statement, he described Gombak division’s polling results released by the selection committee as “highly doubtful”.

“I have strong evidence and documentation to state an official protest, and urge the party to carry out a forensic audit of the results as well as its implementation,” he claimed on Facebook today.

“I am protesting the results of the physical and online votes where it was found that the results in the Gombak division did not make sense, compared with the recorded attendance of supporters who voted physically and online.”

According to the tally, Farhash lost to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari by more than 600 votes in the contest for division chief there.

Amirudin had a total of 1,858 ballots as opposed to Farhash’s 1,215.

Farhash said an audit should be carried out by an independent body approved by all quarters.

He also hoped that the party leadership would take the appropriate action if it finds that the selection and results have been compromised.

Meanwhile, Amirudin in a statement thanked his supporters in Gombak and called for unity as part of the division’s preparation in facing the looming general election. – The Vibes, May 29, 2022
