MACHANG – Jealousy may be the motive behind the death of a woman, who was seven months pregnant, found with a gunshot wound in her stomach area yesterday in a car parked in Kg Repek, Pasir Mas.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said a thorough investigation will be carried out to determine the actual motive as the victim might have been shot with a semi-automatic .38 pistol, from which cops found bullet casings.

Police are looking into the possibility that the victim was shot elsewhere as she was found 15km from her house, reported Bernama.

Zaki added that witnesses will be called in for questioning while members of the public should refrain from speculation.

Yesterday, 26-year-old Emirah Mazlan, who was a mother of three children below the age of 10, was found dead with a gunshot wound in a Nissan Cefiro parked by the roadside.

The baby she was carrying also died from the shot.

Police detained a 40-year-old man, who works as a labourer, at 11.25pm in Pasir Mas to facilitate the murder investigation.
