KUALA LUMPUR – Crackhouse Comedy Club co-founder Rizal van Geyzel is expected to be charged at the sessions court (cyber crimes) in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
The Vibes’ sister portal Getaran reported that the charges against the 39-year-old falls under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, following a stand-up comedy video involving Rizal where he has been accused of inciting racial tension.
Previously, on July 13, Rizal was arrested by officers from Bukit Aman, following a viral video of him allegedly insulting the Malays in social media.
The police had received reports from non-government organisations (NGO) against the comedian nationwide.
Among the NGO who reported Rizal include Persatuan Pengguna Semboyan Malaysia, chaired by Yusof Azmi and 50 other NGOs at the Brickfields police headquarters. – The Vibes, July 21, 2022
