MARANG – PAS has agreed in principle to use Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) new logo in the coming 15th general election (GE15), Sinar Harian reported.

President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said further developments on the logo use will be discussed with Bersatu soon.

“Yes, we will discuss in the next meeting,” he reportedly said to the Malay daily after giving his weekly sermon at the Rusila Mosque here today.

Hadi was commenting on PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s statement that Bersatu and PAS had decided to use the new PN logo in GE15.

Previously, Hadi said PAS was contemplating the use of a new logo, one that is different from PN and the Islamist party’s full moon emblem.

On July 3, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man also said the matter must still be discussed thoroughly within the party, seeing that they had used the PN logo yet suffered huge defeats in the Melaka and Johor state elections.

Commenting further, Hadi still reiterated that PAS wishes to strengthen its cooperation with Umno through Muafakat Nasional, despite adopting the use of the PN logo in the next general election. – The Vibes, July 22, 2022
