KUALA LUMPUR – A Myanmar man and two children are dead after he tossed them over a 20-metre overpass near the Middle Ring Road 2 in Kepong this morning before jumping over himself, Sentul police said.

Another child is in critical condition, Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai said in a statement.

The suspect aged 38 is believed to be the children’s father. Beh said the incident occurred around 5.50am and was witnessed by a local resident who happened to be at the location.

“The Myanmar man was seen walking with the two children, while he carried another.

“As the witness approached them, the man suddenly tossed the children over and followed by jumping off himself,” Beh said.

The children, a girl aged eight and two boys of unknown age, were found at the side of the road near the Desa Jaya traffic light.

“The surviving child is in critical condition and is receiving intensive care treatment at the Selayang Hospital,” the Sentul police chief said.

The bodies have been brought to the forensic unit of Kuala Lumpur Hospital for an autopsy to identify the cause of death.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. – The Vibes, August 2, 2022
