IPOH – Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) will contest 12 parliamentary and 21 state seats in Perak in the 15th general election (GE15).

Perak GTA chairman Mohd Fauzi Zulkifli said the candidates comprised influential and highly qualified locals who have a good rapport with the community.

“GTA candidates in Perak have very good potential to win seats. I believe GTA’s bid to capture Perak can be achieved with our offer of professional candidates, including religious figures, lawyers, doctors, and educators – as well as young candidates,” he said in a statement today.

Among parliamentary candidates to be fielded are Auzaie Fadzlan Shahidi in Larut and Dr Yusmalia Mohamad Yusof in Kuala Kangsar.

The coalition is also fielding Perak Pejuang chief and lawyer Mior Nor Haidir in Tapah, while in Teluk Intan, fellow lawyer Amir Khusyairi is set to contest.

As for state seats, among the candidates to be featured is the coalition’s youngest candidate Dr Mahfuz Abdullah, 25, in Changkat Jong while Perak GTA secretary Aswannudin Hariffudin will be contesting in Teja. – Bernama, November 4, 2022
