GE15: PKR to sack Tian Chua for running as independent in Batu

by Danial Dzulkifly

IPOH – PKR’s Chua Tian Chang will be sacked for going against party wishes and nominating himself as an independent candidate for the Batu parliamentary seat.

Party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said it is unfortunate for long-time ally Chua to run for Batu in this way, and he is automatically sacked from the party for doing so.

He added that it is party policy that members who contest as independents regardless of their justification will be sacked.

“It is unfortunate that he has chosen his path. He is a firebrand, a dedicated reformist.

“I don’t think that is what a reformist should do. It is a dead end to his political career. We will have to take necessary action,” he said to reporters during a press conference after he was named PH candidate for Tambun here. – The Vibes, November 5, 2022
